Joe DeVito was born in Manhattan and ran wild on the mean streets of the Bronx
until the age of 18 months, when his family moved to the suburbs. Along the way,
they instilled in him a love of good food and storytelling, values that today
make him an up-and-coming comic who is 15 pounds overweight.
Class clown, bookworm, heavy metal guitarist, disgruntled employee and unlikely
weight lifting competitor are roles he's played, but "wise ass" is the one that
suits him best. In 2001, Joe's coworkers insisted he try stand-up comedy, which
quickly led to his exit from the corporate world. He currently performs at clubs
all over the east coast and co-hosts the No Relation Comedy Show" in New York
City. He's also written for Stuff Magazine, MTV and the hit movie "Super Size
Me."
Smart, silly and likeable, Joe DeVito is winning over audiences who like to
think as much as they like to laugh.
"DeVito opened with a set that was as fast paced as it was funny. Extremely
disobedient of the term 'politically correct,' he seems to have an endless pile
of inappropriate one-liners in his head... yet deadpans all of this 100% with
just the right amount of self-deprecation."
